SLM Metric¶
This interface allows you to manage the Metrics that are attached to a SLM Service. It is via the thresholds defined for these Metrics that a Services' compliance level is determined. Furthermore, the interface allows you to determine what times to take into account when computing compliance, as you can select to calculate SLM values only from certain times. This is useful when determining compliance only during business hours. Lastly, it can ignore times that occur during scheduled maintenance periods.
Form Fields¶
-
Name - The name of the SLM Metric.
-
Parent Service - The parent SLM Service that the metric will go under.
-
Device - The device to select the metric from.
-
Metric Type - All of the metric types that are available for the selected device.
-
Metric Instance - All of the metric instances that are available for the selected metric type.
-
Value Type - Metric value type to use for threshold. Value range restrictions differ for each type:
-
Availability 0 - 1
-
Utilization 0% - 100%
-
Value has no range restrictions
-
-
Threshold - The threshold that will be set against the metric.
-
If set to [Manual], a custom threshold can be set to check the metric to determine when it is in violation.
-
If set to a pre-configured threshold, that threshold can be used to check the metric to determine when it is in violation.
-
-
Comparison - If Threshold is set to "[Manual]", the operator that will be used to check for metric violation. Used in conjunction with Threshold Value field.
-
Threshold Value - If Threshold is set to "[Manual]", the value used to check for metric violation. Used in conjunction with Comparison field.
-
Time Restrictions - The metric can be set to include or exclude times to perform SLA calculations. For example: only calculate M-F 9-5.
-
Type - Type of Restriction: Including or Excluding specified time range.
-
Start Day - Day of the week that the metric should start being checked, or Everyday.
-
Stop Day - Day of the week that the metric should stop being checked.
-
All Day - Quick choice for a 24-hour period for selected days (not available for Everyday).
-
Start Hour (24-hour) - Hour of the day that the metric should start being checked within selected Start & Stop Days.
-
Stop Hour (24-hour) - Hour of the day that the metric should stop being checked within selected Start & Stop Days.
-
Use Maintenance Windows - Enable/disable the use of available device Maintenance Windows to exclude from calculations.
-
Weight - Decide how much weight to give the metric.
-
SLM Metric User Owner - The user that owns the metric.
-
SLM Metric Group Owner - The group that owns the metric.
-
Status - Status of SLM metric. Enabled will allow SLM metric calculations. Disabled will prevent information from being gathered on the SLM metric.
-
Viewers - The user groups that have access to view the metric.
